No, it is not Information Technology I am talking about when I mention “IT” in this post. I am talking about modeling talent connector Alycia Kaback‘s “IT” factor — as in “Have you got IT? Have you got what it takes to be a model?” I researched Alycia’s company Kaback Model Management for the purpose of this post and from what I read, it seems this company kind of redefines the popular definition of models, which is “tall, slim, young, and hot”. Come to think of it — if you watch an ad on TV, you see all kinds of models and actors appearing, old men, small kids, the not-so-slim and not-so-hot men and women. Moreover, TV advertisements and runways are not all there is to modeling. There are print ads, hoardings, and so many other avenues for models to appear.
If you have a passion for modeling, or have a child or family member interested in a career in modeling, an important thing to know is that just beauty or build is not all there is to it. You need ways to connect to the industry and you need someone from whom you can learn the ropes. Although personally I am not into this business or career, and cannot give advice from a personal experience, it seems a company like Alycia Kaback’s would be a great starting point if you wanted to be a model.
